The Kids Online Health and Safety Task Force, which is co-led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s (DOC) National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), recently released a new report that included several recommendations and best practices for how to make social media and online platforms safer use for children.

The reports recommendations for industry echo those proposed by the United Kingdom’s Information Commissioner’s Office Age Appropriate Design Code and the Data Protection Commission Ireland’s fundamental principles for children.
